That’s right heads, Satoshi Tomiie is returning to Toronto, and to Footwork Bar & Afterhours no doubt!!

New York-based label boss of SAW Recordings, Satoshi Tomiie has become world-renowned as an artist/producer/dj that is very particular about the music with which he associates himself.  Probably the most obvious sign of this is the fact that his label of 10 years has but a mere 77 releases.   His philosophy is on quality, not quantity.  This philosophy has obviously worked for him, as he continues to tour the world, working alongside the likes of Guy Gerber, Jim Rivers, Audiofly, and Luca Bacchetti.

Some classic Satoshi to start us off….this is the oldie that put him on the map ; )

And so moving a decade forward to 2012 – it brings something new and intimate for Satoshi, which fits in quite well with the setting at Footwork: SATOSHI TOMIIE’S POP-UP PARTIES.  The teaser set up by Satoshi really tells us what his plans are for this project:

You can only imagine the vibe of these events.  Fortunately, his set was recorded at the latest ‘pop-up’ in Rome:

And so it comes with no surprise that we have local support from Jeff Button, Matt Coleridge, and Deadly Vanity for this upcoming intimate event.  Jeff Button has become a fixture in Toronto’s underground scene, helping to carve a hot new brand of deep house into the city with The Modern Love Affair.  His residency with this series has demonstrated his commitment to quality music, and compliments his personal brand as well; DigDeep.  Here’s a taste of his latest mix on Platform’s podcast series…

Long-time resident and beat matcher within the Toronto scene, Matt Coleridge continues to serve it up in his own unique way.  His current project, Fabricated, has been running for just over 3 years now, with Matt being it’s one and only monthly resident.  Take a listen to his recent opening set for DROOG in the sultry setting of his “home-away-from-home”, Stone Lounge.

Finally, while Deadly Vanity are a little less seasoned than the other locals for this event, they were booked for this event for an obvious reason.  They mix together a modern take to deep house that really shakes hips.  We’re fortunate that this young duo spends a lot of time perfecting their sound, and working on new mixes.  As a result, here’s their latest served up DV style!!
